Cymbalta

Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a prescription medicine successfully used for the treatment of depression, fibromyalgia symptoms (muscle stiffness, pain, tiredness and insomnia) and the symptoms of diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage). Make sure there is someone around you who will carefully watch for the serious side effects likely to happen in the first couple of months of the treatment while your body is adjusting to the dosage of Cymbalta recommended: agitation, difficulty falling asleep, hostile behavior, severe restlessness, panic attacks, abnormal excitement, worsening depression, and irritability. In case of taking any monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor do not start taking Cymbalta for 14 days after the last dosage, as the combination of these drugs can be very dangerous. Some of the MAO inhibitors you may be using at the moment include phenelzine, isocarboxazid, selegiline or tranylcypromine. If you had a history of a heart attack in the past 6 months, or have heart, liver, or kidney disease, seizures, coronary artery disease, diabetes or high blood pressure make sure you remember to tell your health care provider about it in advance. This may affect the dosage you are prescribed and sometimes you will not be able to take Cymbalta.
